Targeting a diverse range of young women (unemployed, underemployed, or running businesses but face barriers) to access technology infrastructure, capital, markets, and the essential skills for a digital economy.

10X: Enabling the growth of MSMEs through the digital economy

Outbox, in collaboration with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), Women in Technology Uganda (WITU), and Refactory, and in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is implementing the 10X Program. This initiative aims to reach 250,000 young women—including 3% refugees and 5% persons with disabilities—with 125,000 engaged in direct work (new, improved, or sustained) over a seven-year period.

The program targets a diverse range of young women, including those who are unemployed, underemployed, or running businesses but face barriers to accessing technology infrastructure, capital, markets, and the essential skills required to secure dignified and fulfilling work opportunities in the digital economy.

The 10X Program will begin with a three-year pilot phase, designed to test and refine the most effective approaches for delivering these interventions. During this period, it aims to reach 61,000 young women, with 34,000 engaged in direct work.
